“It felt appropriate that the first album in the Words and Verses project touch on one of the first stories told in the gospels: the birth of Jesus. I could have picked from a variety of sources, but Luke 2:11 is probably the most familiar. It has been referenced in countless plays and productions, including the famous explanation of “what Christmas is all about” by Linus in the Charlie Brown Christmas Special.
Foundation will also touch on a myriad a genres, some of which could get rather intense, so the idea of composing a soft and Christmas track to help keep things balanced, and really establish something positive and peaceful, was a welcome one. It’s tricky using purely instrumental means to establish something that will certainly feel like Christmas, without weaving in a popular or cliché theme, but it’s a welcome challenge.”
The composition to coincide with this Bible verse is still in development; once a work-in-progress is ready, a sample will be made available on this page.

It is entitled “Words and Verses: Foundation.” Not only is it the first collection of works in the project, but the goal is that over the course of twelve compositions, multiple core foundational verses will be explored, setting the stage for future albums and themes.
