“Well, Foundation has a verse from the beginning of the Bible, doesn’t it? Makes sense to include a verse from the end too... and what an end it is! There is so much powerful content in the book of Revelation, it’s hard to know where to begin. If you’re unfamiliar with the scriptures, you’d probably be amazed as to how many quotes you’d recognize from movies. Tombstone, Ghostbusters, the list goes on. The material not only covers the end of the world, but beyond, via a combination of mind-blowing visions, prophecies, battles, and more.
It was hard to find a single verse from Revelation that could sum up the book, but I think — at least for the purposes of the album — this does the trick. It implies an epic entrance, and a battle to ensue... but it also implies both victory, and interestingly enough, purity. The Lord himself is getting ready to do battle.
Musically, of course, this needs to be epic. But I didn’t want to go over the top with choir and all that. At least not too quickly. I didn’t want this piece to feel like the soundtrack to a heavenly battle scene in a movie, with a bunch of CG angels and demons clashing swords. Rather, it’s about the entrance. He has arrived. He is Faithful and True, and while a personification of righteousness and holiness, He isn't afraid of conflict or a fight. And brace yourselves, because that fight is coming.”
The composition to coincide with this Bible verse is still in development; once a work-in-progress is ready, a sample will be made available on this page.

The above verse is a selection from the first release of The Words and Verses Project, which is currently in development. It is entitled “Words and Verses: Foundation.” Not only is it the first collection of works in the project, but the goal is that over the course of twelve compositions, multiple core foundational verses will be explored, setting the stage for future albums and themes.
Subscribe for UpdatesThis list is subject to change, but the tentative list of verses selected for Foundation is as follows:
Previews of the music will be made available on this website in the near future.
